About Winemaker: Growing up on a farm in South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, Nick Price had a dream to one day get back to the land. A decade ago, that dream became a reality, bringing together Nick’s love of farming and his passion for wine. The Price’s Wines vineyard is 40 acres of prime grape production on limestone Terra Rossa soils in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. Our vineyard consistently produces quality grapes, nurtured to burst with flavor. Nick has sourced some of South Australia’s finest winemakers to produce the stunning range of Price’s Wines.
Harvest & Cellar Notes: Price’s No.4 is a blend of the best wines from our 2017 vintage. Premium quality barrels have been singled out and artfully blended to create this unique and succulent wine. The wine is delightfully fruited and seductively complex on the nose showing dark fruit richness together with nuances of warm spice, cedar, and violet. The palate displays excellent weight and depth, wonderfully complemented by succulent fruit intensity and fleshy mouthfeel, superbly structured by fine chalky tannins. Stylish and sophisticated with a lengthy refined finish. Serve with grilled lamb cutlets with mustard glaze.
Tasting Notes: Super dark, intense red color with a lovely glowing sheen. Juicy dark red fruit spectrum, plums, and cherries. The oak, pleasantly integrated with the fruit, is surrounded by hints of clove, cinnamon, and five-spice. Smooth tannins hit the pallet with lush fruits showing through to a medium-dry finish. Great length! Overall, this is a well-balanced age-worthy wine with plenty going on.
