Mclaren Vales Price’s Wines Block 2 Alicante Bouschet Rosé 2022
In a deeper, luscious shade of pink, this McLaren Vale’s Alicante Bouschet Rosé unfurls with an enchanting aroma that entices the senses. It’s a harmonious blend of raspberry, apricot, and delicate lemon peel, accented by nuanced hints of dried herbs. Upon tasting, it reveals a palate of generous weight, offering a fine-textured sensation and invigorating acidity. Its delicately firm structure not only adds to its charm but also makes it a delightful accompaniment to a wide array of dishes, showcasing its remarkable versatility as an ideal food companion.
Alicante Bouschet Rosé is a type of rosé wine made from the Alicante Bouschet grape variety. Alicante Bouschet is a teinturier grape, which means both its skin and flesh are red, resulting in deeply pigmented wines. While Alicante Bouschet is often used in red wine production for its intense color and bold flavors, it can also be used to produce rosé wines.
To make Alicante Bouschet Rosé, the winemaking process typically involves a shorter period of skin contact during fermentation compared to red wine production. This limited contact allows for a lighter color extraction from the grape skins, resulting in a rosé wine with a beautiful pink hue.
The flavor profile of Alicante Bouschet Rosé can vary but often includes notes of red fruits like raspberry, and strawberry, and sometimes hints of citrus or floral aromas. It tends to have a refreshing acidity, making it a versatile wine that can pair well with a range of dishes or be enjoyed on its own as a delightful, chilled beverage.

About Winemaker:
About Winemaker: Growing up on a farm in South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, Nick Price had a dream to one day get back to the land. A decade ago, that dream became a reality, bringing together Nick’s love of farming and his passion for wine. The Price’s Wines vineyard is 40 acres of prime grape production on limestone Terra Rossa soils in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. Our vineyard consistently produces quality grapes, nurtured to burst with flavor. Nick has sourced some of South Australia’s finest winemakers to produce the stunning range of Price’s Wines.
Harvest & Cellar Notes: There are only a handful of Alicante producers in South Australia, and Price’s Wines is the first to make this lively and bright Rosé in the McLaren Vale Region.
Tasting Notes: The Price’s Block 2 Alicante Bouschet is vibrant, crisp, and refreshing with juicy fresh berry flavors. With its relatively low ABV (11.1%), Block 2 is the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon in the sun. Our tip – keep an extra bottle chilled because it’ll be popular. Best served chilled with salt and pepper squid or fresh prawns with cocktail sauce.
Additional info: Beautifully fragrant and delicately structured.
