About Winemaker: Growing up on a farm in South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, Nick Price had a dream to one day get back to the land. A decade ago, that dream became a reality, bringing together Nick’s love of farming and his passion for wine. The Price’s Wines vineyard is 40 acres of prime grape production on limestone Terra Rossa soils in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. Our vineyard consistently produces quality grapes, nurtured to burst with flavor. Nick has sourced some of South Australia’s finest winemakers to produce the stunning range of Price’s Wines.
Harvest & Cellar Notes: Price’s Wines Block 1 Malbec is a velvety smooth wine, rich, fruity, and deserving exclusivity in the bottle. As a variety, Malbec is extremely challenging to grow but well worth the perseverance. This wine is fragrant, lifted by dark fruit notes. The palate is filled with lush berry flavors and balanced with a savory spiced note. The Price’s Wines Block 1 Malbec is drinking well now but will cellar for at least another decade. Serve with roasted beef rump, beetroot, and Brussels sprouts.
Tasting Notes: Deep purple, crimson red. An instant hit of blueberries, cloves, raisins, and toasted almonds, indicating full-bodied lushness. An earthy, berry mouth feel with medium-full tannins. Blissful blue fruit folds over a fine oak influence. It has a great structure with marvelous balance.
Additional info: Silky smooth with fragrant dark fruit.
