The Maker’s Mark 46 Process

10 Seared French Oak Staves

We experimented tirelessly with different staves that were cut, toasted, and charred.

Added to cask strength barrels

We inserted 10 wood staves into barrels of fully matured Maker’s Mark at cask strength.

Aged longer in our limestone cellar

The cask strength barrels are aged for 9 long weeks in our limestone cellars until the whisky is ready.

For a more complex whisky

Patience and expertise led us to “Stave Profile No.46”, a seared French Oak stave that gave us the complex flavour we were looking for.

INGREDIENTS

60ml Maker’s Mark 46 Bourbon

30ml sweet vermouth

2 dashes bitters

Cherry for garnish

METHOD

1. Combine all ingredients over ice in a mixing glass

2. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass (near or on the rocks)

3. Garnish with a cherry.
